Using reSolve resources

The reSolve: Maths by Inquiry project aims to:

  1. Develop and disseminate a suite of innovative, high quality mathematics teaching and learning resources for Foundation to Year 10 school students, teachers and school leaders, incorporating contemporary mathematics pedagogies that are aimed at transforming the teaching and learning of mathematics; and
  2. Ensure widespread awareness and uptake of the resources and associated pedagogical approaches in schools across Australia.

This module introduces the reSolve project, and, through examining some sample resources in details, invites teachers to engage with the spirit of inquiry and the Protocol that underpin the reSolve project.

The goals of the module are:

  • To introduce participants to the reSolve: Mathematics by Inquiry project and its various elements;
  • To introduce participants to the notion of a “spirit of inquiry” that permeates the reSolve resources, and engage them in a reSolve activity;
  • To view the classroom resources generally and to examine one classroom resource in detail;
  • To introduce participants to the reSolve Protocol and discuss its various elements; and
  • To encourage participants to commit to a classroom trial as a result of the module.
